It’s that time again! Time to make sure your passport is good to go when that trip you’ve been eyeing on Google Flights finally has a deal.

The top 3 mistakes I see people make when it comes to passports are:

1. Not checking the expiration date.  To travel abroad from the US, you need a passport that doesn’t expire within six months of your travel date.

2. Not having enough free Visa pages for stamps.  Most countries require a minimum of 2 free passport pages in order to enter their country.  

3. Not having a valid passport (or not having a passport at all) when it’s time to travel.  If you are leaving the United States, you need a passport.  This includes travel by land, sea, and air.
